The fourth sequel of the Ice Age movie series is officially entitled Ice Age: Continental Drift, but it is also known under the denomination of Ice Age 4: Continental Drift or just plainly Ice Age 4. The fourth part of the notorious computer animated series shall project an even more increased effect on the viewers because they will have a 3D experience (the humongous success of shooting the previous sequel also in 3D let no room for questions regarding this topic). Various famous actors and singers gave their voices this time also to the lovable characters of the animation.
While the studio that produces this high quality source of entertainment remained the same and so did its distributor, the movie was not directed by Carlos Saldanha. Unlike the original Ice Age sequel, the second sequel entitled The Meltdown and the third sequel entitled Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the newest sequel of the series will have a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
Regardless of the changes made on the directing set, the three main characters of Ice Age 4: Continental Drift are going to be Manny the mammoth, Diego the tiger and Sid the sloth. They will go on another quest following the fact the continent they live on is floating freely. Their vessel is an iceberg and on it they travel the ocean and meanwhile they meet various maritime animal beings, not to mention they get involved into fierce fights against sea robbers and discover an unknown universe to them.
Ice Age 4 was programmed to be officially released in Barcelonawith the occasion of a film festival, but the public premiere of the movie is going to take place in Belgium, on the 27th of June 2012 and respectively, in the United States of America, on the 13th of July 2012.
